Farewell

Hello all. It is to both with happiness and pain that I write to you all: This is my last post. My time here on Earth has come to an end; just yesterday, I received a transmission from my home planet. All scouts were being recalled in hopes of figuring out a solution regarding my planet’s dysfunction and problems.

I have greatly enjoyed my time here on Earth, and have truly learned a lot: about the creatures here, about how they interact, and about myself and the emotions and institutions that matter the most to me. You can be sure that I will take all I have learned here on Earth, all that I have documented in the past months and weeks, and use them in efforts of bettering my own planet so that we too may emulate the peace this planet holds. And who knows? Life is mysterious. Perhaps I will find myself here again to talk to you all once more.

Once again, forever and always,

Until next time readers 🙂

Is everything here on Earth sentient?

Hello readers.

I always thought I had a decent handle on my perception of life, of what it meant to be alive. I was alive. I was sentient. I know the humans that surround me on this odd little planet are alive as well. The various creatures I have consumed in my time here, the growing plants that envelop both Earth as well as my planet; these are all alive too. It was much to my surprise when I learned that there are things that move and make sound like living creatures do, but are not alive. I came to this startling realization some time ago, during my first few weeks exploring Earth. In every land I traveled to and observed, it appeared that these humans would interact quite often with large, metal creatures. These creatures came in various shapes, colors, and sizes, and usually consisted of wheel like appendages to transport themselves coupled with transparent scaling. Humans would seemingly enter these creatures – Yes, as in enter inside of them. Mind-boggling, I know. Fear not, these creatures are not dangerous in this way; they do not consume their occupants – and let them carry them at high speeds to other destinations.

Now I was aware of the human tendency to employ different creatures for their own transportation. I had learned by that time of instances of humans using creatures known as “horses” and “dogs” to aid them in traveling long distances. Surely this was another one of their domestication efforts, I thought. Curious as to the nature of the creatures, I decided to approach one during the cover of night. I still remember it: purple, about the size of 6 humans, tucked away in a shed by its humans. As I explored it further however, I came to the startling realization: it was a machine! The sounds, the movements, all of it; it was all a product of the machinery hidden underneath all of its outside scaling! Upon further research, I found these contraptions were called automobiles, and were used by humans around the world to transport themselves. I took it as simply another marvel of these humans’ technological advancements.

However, the other day whilst roaming “The Internet”, I came across a peculiar post by the author William Alpine. It was not the post in particular that struck me; It was the author. William Alpine was a sentient, intelligent Automobile. This contraption had learned how to think, how to self reflect, and how to communicate! Alpine’s post dealt with its realization that its very existence and life contributed to the ever growing threat of climate change here on Earth, and how this saddened Alpine immensely. I was shook! Had it become possible on this strange little planet, that intimate objects could gain the ability to be sentient, to become alive? Or was this simply an anomoly? Either way, my curiosutiy is piqued. This could change the entire universe! You can be sure that I will be on the lookout for more beings like Alpine going forward; and I will be sure to update you all upon their discovery.

Until next time readers.

The Street Battles of Earth

“Namaste” readers. So glad you could join me again.

As I am sure you could fathom by my unorthodox greeting, I spent the last bit of time since we had checked in acclimating myself to the wonders of Earth’s “India”. As I grew more familiar with Earth’s global geography, I had realized it was one of the few places I had yet failed to visit in my time here. I stretched my wings out after far too long, and set out en route to this fabled land.

Upon descending above “India”, my eyes were met with scenes of rustic beauty. I spent hours roaming the skies of this place, soaking in the wide range of sights this land had to offer. From the snow capped mountains to untamed jungles of its wilds, to the various fields and bustling cities that its humans resided in, to even a sky scraping palace composed of white marble; “India” was truly a sight to behold. My adventures here were interrupted, however, by the reappearance of a familiar face; one that caused a great deal of commotion.

I had stopped by in one of India’s cities to find myself nourishment. It had been a long journey after all. Some days the will to hunt simply isn’t there; in these situations, prowling through human communities and consuming the prey there is far less effort. These Earth “dogs” and “cats” by themselves prove to be finger foods, snacks at most. But when consumed in volume, do provide a substantial meal! I was in search for these small creatures when I heard a great commotion. At first, my instinct was panic. My wings flared, ready for a quick departure; perhaps I had finally been seen by these humans! I had to leave before more arrived. But, as the commotion continued, i realized it was not aimed at me. I peeked my head around the street corner I was hiding behind, and my eyes widened.

Warfare. Warfare waged through the streets. For an instant, I thought that I might have been back home; flames filled the streets, smoke clouded the air, screams and chants intermingled with all of the chaos ensuing. The humans of the city were up in arms; various people hobbled away injured, with a few lying still in the streets. This was nothing like the tame rationalizing I had experienced earlier here on Earth; this was WAR. This was HOME.

As I made my way away from the battle, my curiosity took over me. I had to know why. These humans did not usually act in this manner; I had never seen their conflicts culminate in such intense violence. I snaked around the city, with open ears, and soon learned the cause: The Orange Man. I was stunned. This peculiar little human was everywhere it seemed! Not only that, but it seemed that conflict and uproar followed in his path as well! According to the murmurs of this city, the clan leader of the “The United States of America” had decided upon a rather controversial method of allowing people into his clan’s land. Apparently, humans of a certain religion by the name of “Muslim” were not welcome in The Orange Man’s land. This decision led to an uproar, and the ones slighted took to the streets to voice their displeasure and were met by those who disagreed with them, resulting in the skirmish I was witness to.

Now, this at first struck me as peculiar. On my home too, we have ways of life, clan cultures, that are closely tied to what humans here refer to as religion. But, in no way do these ways of life differentiate the beings we are at our core! My home is different in the case that our very concept of cross-clan society is shattered; we simply stick to ourselves. This, from my understanding, isn’t the case here on Earth. It shouldn’t be the case here on Earth. As a witness of it all; to highlight these trivial differences among us, to use them as dividers… This is why my world is the way it is. Full of pain, full of divide, and war. One of the beauties of Earth that I had come to marvel at was the ability of its people to coexist, atleast better than my own could. This Orange Man is taking steps in the wrong direction; as the leader of his clan, I dearly hope he either corrects this divisive mentality, or is replaced soon; I would hate to see the atmosphere of my home come alive here on Earth.

Until next time readers.

Who are the Super Smash Brothers?

Salutations readers.

It seems that my last post has proven to be a bit of an overreaction. It turns out that I am in fact not suffering from a fatal Earth sickness with my days numbered, as I woke up yesterday feeling absolutely normal. My hunch is that my adventurous diet here on this planet finally caught up to me, and my illness proved to be the effects of some odd creature I had consumed not agreeing with my several stomachs. Whatever it was however, I am grateful to have put the ordeal past me; I’m more than happy to leave “being sick” to the Earth beings.

While recovering from my illnesses, I only had the energy to laze about and distract myself from my aching body with the “The Internet”‘s pleasures. Upon my virtual adventures this time, I was introduced to the author FutureGamingPro. While I had no backstory or knowledge of their personalities, I was hooked by their adherence to the late Great Human Kobe Bryant, a being I myself addressed earlier and had great respect for. Future Gaming Pro went on to comment on Kobe Bryant’s great achievement, and was especially keen to highlight his unbending dominance in the game of this so called “Basketball”. It was from here, however, that his post went in a direction I am still pondering. FutureGamingPro started to liken Bryant’s dominance to several others I had never heard before, and constantly referred to… something named Super Smash Brothers. Now at first, I was under the impression that this referred to a pair of biological brothers. Perhaps they enjoyed to destroy things (Humans are quite odd in this way) Upon turning to the internet however, I was told there are actually many Super Smash Brothers; and each one fascinated me. What were these beings? The article I happened upon had a list of these Smash Brothers. Each one had a unique name, such as “Samus” or “Link”. One even looked somewhat like me! “Ridley” was its name, I believe. Along with names, I was able to see their appearances as well as read about their abilities, all of which related to some form of battle. These abilities ranged from weapons to forms of fighting to even supernatural abilities; I was starting to reel. From the looks of it, Earth was simply home to too many surprise beings; all of which apparently could decimate any of my people in combat if they tried.

Upon deeper research, much to my surprise, I learned that these beings were not physical beings. It seems that here on Earth, “The Internet” is not the peak of what human technology can do. No, they have managed to create virtual realities; one where these “Smash Brothers” being controlled by humans can battle with one another. It seems that this planet has no shortage of wonders. I mused to myself; if these “Smash Brothers” realities were present on my world, would my people still be at each others throats physically? Or would they simply funnel their destructive energies in these virtual battles? During my long days of sickness, these amusing thoughts give me some comfort.

Until next time readers.

Am I… diseased?

Hello once again readers.

I have met yet another first time milestone in my lifetime; it appears that the stress of interstellar travel, voyaging around a strange new planet, and general fatigue has finally caught up to me. As I woke up a few days ago, a peculiar sensation clouded my body. My limbs felt heavy, my breathing was tight, my head felt as if it was rotating on a pin and simply could not stop. Dazed, I attempted to fight through the feeling and rise to my feet, only to give in to my weakness. I was flabbergasted. What was happening to me? I had never experienced anything like this before. Never had I felt so deathly, so awful. As I stumbled through the quaint little forest I had spent the night in, I happened upon a stream, where I was fortunate enough to help myself to a number of strange slippery water creatures; “Feesh”, I believe the humans call them. They were a godsend. I managed to muster enough energy from them in my system for flight, and set off in my limited state, hoping to figure out my predicament.

It was after some observing and research that I became acclimated with the concept of disease. Now, on my home, one does not get ‘sick’. Injured, yes plenty. Death too, claims us more than what is considered usual. But disease? That is a foreign concept to me. So, you can imagine my shock upon not only experiencing such sickness for the first time, but realizing that beings here on this Earth undergo such an ordeal regularly. How strong these people are; I don’t think I could ever go through such a process again.

It is here that I underwent a scare, if you will. Naturally, upon discovering sickness, I was curious, and was quick to find out all I could about its nature, its implications, and what exactly it meant for me. I once again turned to my new best friend, “The Internet”, for help, but was met with rather alarming news. It appears that Earth, currently, is in the grips of a disease problem of its own. “The Internet” was full of reports and concerns over a so called “Coronavirus”, which apparently had spread across the globe, infecting thousands and even resulting in the death of some. I was quick to learn how powerful disease could be. A silent, inescapable killer… while I envied Earth for its peace and lack of ragged warfare, this was one aspect of this planet I was glad my home shared little similarity with. My next natural thought, however, was to jump to the worst possible situation. Perhaps… Was it possible… that I had this disease? After all, I had roamed this planet to great extents; I had eaten many the odd creature, not knowing where they had been, or what they had been in contact with. Could it be that unknowingly, I had managed to contract this possible death sentence. Sadly readers, I do not think I have a way of knowing; it appears that the only experts on the topic are the Earth humans, and discreetness is integral to my mission’s success here. And so my readers, it appears that I must wait out this ordeal. Time will be the only teller as to what exactly is wrong with me.

If this is my last post, please find a way to tell my people all that I have learned here.

Until next time readers. If there is one, that is.

Government?

Welcome back readers.

You will be pleased to know that after the emotional turmoil I was witness to the last week, I retreated from the harsh tidings of the real word and dived back into my venturing of the Earth inter webs. I found its constant hub-bub and insanity quite comforting in a time that seemed almost too still and somber.

If there is one human I am most intrigued by, it is the peculiar Orange Man I referred to in an earlier post. Upon my time here on Earth and through my acclimation to the Internet, I have been both seeing and hearing quite a lot of this Orange Man. It seems to me that every move of his results in videos, photos, and scriptures flooding the internet, either ridiculing or praising his actions. What is it about this stout little man that brings him so much Earth attention?

Upon my virtual roaming, I found myself on the page of a writer by the name of Rowan Nolan, who too addressed the topic of the Orange Man, who he referred to as “Donald Trump”. Even the name has something quite odd to it. Through Nolan’s take on the Trump man, I learned several things:

1. Nolan is quite far from an Orange Man supporter.

2. The Trump man is a “president”, a leader of sorts, of the fabled “The United States of America” clan.

and finally 3. That clans here on Earth were far, FAR different than they are on my home.

Now, hear this. Clans are quite simple back home. If you live with the clan, you die by the clan. We are led by our strongest member, which often leads to several challengers eager for their time with power itching to usurp the clan leader. Now, we among the clan have our own individual roles, but the power ladder is simple: If you could physically dominate one, you were the Alpha. Simple as that. You listen to those on top of you, and you go about your day. Here however, things are different…

With this title of president being initially confusing to me, I went on to find out more about this concept of “Government” these humans are so keen on. Terms such as “Democracy”, “Checks and Balances”, “Representation” swirled in my head as I read about this new discovery, and while they still all seem a bit muddled in my head, I believe I was able to take away the main idea; that humans here live in societies more or less dictated by a collective overseeing unit, not simply those directly superior to them. These people had ways to communicate with those that oversaw their lives as well, and somehow this collective “Government” worked… well. People were safe, happy, and were for the most part content. And, if they were not content, they could make it known, and inspire change for themselves.

And this, it seems, is where my good friend Nolan is. At odds with this Orange Man who leads his clan, causing him to voice his passionate concerns to the rest of those concerned. I wish him luck in his endevour to denounce the Trump man; I too do not think too highly of him.

A Somber Couple of Weeks for Earth

Hello readers. It has been a longer stretch than usual that I have updated you all on my whereabouts and experiences; I apologize for that. One simply forgets about these things when on an international scouting mission. I will say however, in m latest two weeks of observation here on Earth, the mood has been rather… down. Both through my keen eyes flying over the globe as well as through my newest favorite hobby of “The Internet”, it appears that the last couple of weeks have not been the kindest to humans. Tragic events have apparently left the Earth people emotionally and physically drained as a collective.

Upon becoming aware of the general solemn energy filling the atmosphere, I naturally became curious. This planet was not often like this to my experience, after all. There was usually a hustle-bustle, a buzz that never truly dipped until now. And so, to the trusted “Internet” I went, where I was met with somber news: The death of a great man, Kobe Bryant. Take heed of the implications when I say great. I have been on this planet for not too long. I was not here for the bulk of his lifetime, and did not witness his accomplishments in real time. But even I can see the range of his influence upon this world, and how much he meant to this world. For those of you that do not know who this Bryant man is, I was in your place as well. How is it that one man, one insignificant human, could evoke so much mourning, such empathy from the world as a whole? Surely he could not have had such a connection with all of these individual human beings? I dove into my research imitatively, and found this Kobe Bryant to be a former professional human athlete; one that played the game of ‘Basketball’. Now, it was here that I slowly began to understand the implications of human sports. On my world, we too play games, but for enjoyment, for casual time pass and amusement. The most competitive our games would get would be to settle petty wagers, establish some worst of trivial dominance over one another, and such. But here. Here sports define people, places, time itself! This simple game of ‘Basketball’ was more effective at uniting the people on this planet than anything has ever done on my home. The passion, the awe, and the dedication to these games, these sports, on this planet dwarfs anything I could compare it to from where I originate. Past this passion however, I discovered just what it was about this man that set him apart, that brought him this godlike admiration. He was the definition of a warrior. He pushed through hardships, inhibitions, mediocrity, and injury to establish himself as one of the most accomplished athletes of human history. His constant fuel for greatness brought results, and ignited a fire under so many others. He was an inspiration, an icon, a leader. And so I finally understood the severity, the loss of his passing. This was not just some human. This was a being that transcended differences and distance, that overcame the need for a personal connection. This was a man who touched people so deeply with his ideals, his actions, and his beliefs that the entire world stood still upon his death. I had never experienced this type of influence before. I have never felt so small, so insignificant. While my physical capabilities can provide so much, the ability to inspire, to mean something to that many people. Incredible. I offer my condolences to these humans. It seems that they lost a legend.

Building upon my Internet Explorations

A salute to you, my followers. If have been with me over the past few weeks, you know my story and know that just last week, I began to trifle with the possibilities of the Internet, and happened to stumble upon a electronic journal similar to mine. Well, that particular read rather piqued my interest. If this one read was such a thrilling discovery, imagine the revelations I may happen upon by taking on the infinite blogs that exist in this cyber plane. And so, I did just this. In my leisure time between my physical explorations of this planet, I would find myself a point of internet access and continue my virtual journeys as well.

I came across a peculiar read the other day. It wasn’t rather emotional or startling; but it did make me think about the nature of beings and their interactions with one another. The post I am referring to is called “The Mask”. While the author gave no distinguishing characteristics about themselves, I was entranced with the tale they spun. The post depicted the experience of a collegiate student in the land known as “China”. According to this author, there appears to be some sort of rampant disease present in the area, and to avoid it the locals have began to purchase medical masks in hopes of restricting their interactions with contaminated air. The collegiate student I referred to attempted to purchase a mask for herself, but was told that an individual had bought all the masks from the store and was selling them himself for astronomically larger prices. However, his selfishness was met with anger from the masses, as a large group of people soon used force and caused him to spill his collection of masks, ultimately leaving them to the public for free.

Now at first when I read this account, I simply smirked. If I was in the place of that girl, faced with this unreasonable arrogant salesman, I would have simply ripped his he-. I apologize. There is no need for such brutish illustrations. Let’s just say, I would have acquired my mask rather quickly, by use of force or without. Upon mulling it over however, I began to dig a little deeper into this small interaction. I put myself in the mind of the salesman. While I will admit he was taking advantage of a rather unethical situation, was he not simply doing what was best for himself through a business perspective? Was he not displaying an avid mind and making a smart decision to help himself and those reliant on him? Or was he wrong for dealing with such practices during a time of dire need? All of these questions swirled in my mind, and truth be told reader, I do not know where I stand on the matter. Such cut-throat nature has led to the success of many, both on my home planet and here, it seems. But while some stand in admiration of it, others who feel the repercussions of it scowl. This new habit I have grew into, of thinking more and reading into situations. I think I will do it more often. I feel as if its made me more level-headed, more insightful. I think this mentality will go ways to helping my home.

Human War. Amusing.

Hello again my readers. So glad to have you back. Before I dive into my topic of discovery, I would like to point out to you all that I had my first meal here on Earth this past week. Unlike humans, my kind does not require sustenance or water frequently; while Earth dwellers eat from two to four meals per day, we have one large meal every 2-3 Earth weeks. I had eaten quite richly before departing my planet, but as my time here continued my hunger pangs slowly grew until I had to take action. Now, I will admit that these humans are far more sophisticated than us when it comes to food. These concepts of cooking, silverware, and food presentation that I’ve been observing are all mind boggling to me. From where I come from, we do not engage in these trivial activities. No, No. We Hunt. And so, that is precisely what I set out to do. Upon roaming the countryside of what I believe is known as Sweden, I stumbled upon a delectable group of peculiar creatures. They were large and ranged in different shades of brown and black, and traveled on four lanky legs. Upon their heads sat pairs of magnificent antlers, which to my delight served as perfect tooth cleaners upon the completion of my meal. Through research, I learned that the name of my delightful feast was moose. Such flavor, such texture! I wish for my entire clan to get their claws on moose for themselves; nothing on my world comes close to the luscious eat they provide. I cannot wait till my next meal here; I can only imagine what odd Earth creature I will find for myself next…

Now, for my main point of discovery: I have witnessed human warfare for the first time. I will say I am disappointed however; there appears to be far more yapping than there are battles. Somewhere along my travels, I was able to learn again through these human news channels (Bless them for these networks. They make my life so much easier) that the clans known as the “United States of America” and “Iran” were at conflict. Apparently, this clash stemmed from the killing of an “Iran” member by the “United States of America”, and was escalated when the “Iran” clan sent a mobile attack toward members of the “United States of America” clan, injuring many of them. This technology fascinated me. To attack one while not being the one to physically attack them? What a concept! While the damage and havoc my kind can wreak with their own physical abilities are great, to be able to bring such mass destruction to one from afar is… something to think about. While its innovation is impressive, I worry that it is part of a road I do not wish my people to take. Such potential for inflicting carnage in the grasps of my war crazed planet; nobody would ever be safe. Back to the point however. Yes, upon my learning of this conflict, I trembled with excited. Finally, it was time to see how these humans could rumble! I was eager to see how they dealt their damage. My hopes were dashed, however. If such attacks were carried out at my home, the two clans involved would be at each others throats by now – perhaps one would have already been standing triumphant by now. But here, it appears they do not move as fast as we do. No, instead there is simply one human or another representing each clan speaking, spewing bravado and updates on their own troops, and how the other clan is inferior, or obsolete, or not a threat. A strange orange man, who appears to be of some importance to the “United States of America” come out to these news channels, and reported that the clan of “Iran” had put forth a sorry attack, and that the troops of the “United States of America” affected were simply nursing simple headaches. What a funny little person. He appears so pompous and grand, with statements of courage and support of his clan and troops; he doesn’t seem like he’s ever been close to combat or struggle his entire existence.

While I was not able to witness any razing, I can takeaway some key points. Perhaps this postponing, this period of time where humans simply talk and front and mediate is not as useless as I saw it at first. Perhaps it lets tensions diffuse, or simply let clans assess how willing they are to go forth into battle. It is a way of going about war that I do not know if my planet would be too accepting towards; but it is my job to at least put it forth.

Until next time my friends.

My Discovery of Huck

Hello readers. While I did check in earlier, I have recently made a discovery that excited me so much I was impelled to share. In my time here, I’ve taken it upon myself to familiarize with the navigation of this virtual space these humans refer to as “The Internet”; I’ve found that it is extremely useful in my goals of observation and learning, while also amusing when serving as a time pass. Such trivial and crude humor. I haven’t experienced such carefree entertainment since I was a child. However, this is beyond the point. Upon my venturing of the Web, I stumbled upon a page not unlike my own. It appeared to be a blog of sorts, a collection of ones encounters and experiences here. At first I paid it no mind, simply grazing the text with my mind wandering, wondering where to go next, what to do. As I read more of the post however, my lackadaisical reading grew into fascination; me and the author seemed to have far more in common that I originally thought.

The writer, Huck (as they referred to themselves as) was not of this world! While I was certainly sure that life exists in more places than my home and this Earth, to get confirmation of this fact was certainly thrilling. Apparently, this Huck mirrored this planet’s humans in appearance, but was instead part of a master race called the jainkoa, a race that had created these humans as part of an experiment to monitor their inherent nature. This Huck possessed the ability to move at light speed, and had spent the last years doing what I have been doing; monitoring these humans from afar, taking note of their behaviors, tactics, and interactions with each other. While my wings travel swiftly, the feat of light speed movement is far beyond me – I find myself wondering just how powerful the people of this Huck are as an entirety. An entire species possessing such speed, such power… As of now, I know that my own people are not the most menacing there is. This concept both strikes fear and awe in my heart. This universe is bigger than it seems.

Perhaps the greatest muse I had upon reading this account however, was the common fascination me and Huck had for these humans. While both of us appear to individually boast far superior traits and abilities than the average Earth person, here both of us were; silently and stealthily watching the masses of these humans across the globe, learning all throughout. The more I stay here, the more I have come to learn; while they are weak in stature, the potential for these humans when interacting together far super cedes the dysfunction of my world. There is much to gather from them for ALL beings, it seems.

Below is a link to the accounts of the one known as Huck. I advise you to take a look for yourself.

Until next time.
